Tokyo – February 6, 2009 – GMO Internet Group company, GMO Research announces that on January 30 consolidated subsidiary, Japan Market Intelligence (JMI) became a wholly-owned subsidiary following the acquisition of all shares.
Background to the Stock Acquisition
On December 31 of last year, GMO Research acquired a 53% stake in JMI and the company became a consolidated subsidiary on January 1, 2009. Now, following the acquisition of all remaining shares, JMI has been made a wholly owned subsidiary.
This move allows GMO Research to develop the industry and advance research technology in the Japanese market. At the same time GMO Research aims to leverage JMI’s strong international sales channels to create real research solutions, and platforms for the global marketplace.
